When Samsung release their new flagship, the Galaxy S4, earlier this year, it was packed full of some pretty unique features. One that has gained quite bit of momentum is called Smart Pause. It’s a feature that allows you to pause and restart a movie just by looking away from the screen and then looking back.

For those of you who are on iOS and would quite like to give this a go, it’s been made possible with a jailbreak tweak that has just become available on the Cydia store. Yes, you must have a jailbroken device but, if you haven’t, worry not, all you need to do is follow our guide and it will be done in no time.
The tweak is called FaceHalt and it works pretty much the same as SmartPause. It uses the front camera on your device to detect whenever you look away from the screen you are watching a movie on and pause it for you. Look back and it will restart.
FaceHalt will work on the iPad 2, 3, 4, Mini, iPhone 4S, 5 and iPod Touch 5th Generation. The developer assures us that it will work on almost all applications, although if you use one like VLC that has custom implementations it will need a little setting up.
FaceHalt in Action :
One you have downloaded FaceHalt you can activate it by going to Settings and taping to turn it on. That’s all the setup it requires. It will automatically detect when your eyes are no longer on the screen and pause; as soon as you look back your video will restart it. It can be worked manually by double tapping the Pause button to stop and Play to start again.
Download and Installation :
FaceHalt is currently available on the BigBoss repo on Cydia for the princely sum of just $2, well worth the cost.
