The Worldwide Jailbreak Conference 2013 has just been held in New York at the Radisson Hotel. Many of the big-named developers were present, talking about their latest ventures and fielding questions. 2 of those were P0sixninja, ex chronic dev team member and pimskeks form team evad3rs.

They have told the conference that the iOS 7 jailbreak is not looking too healthy at the moment and is nowhere near ready. Both of the developers had confirmed that the exploits were available for a jailbreak but, unfortunately, some of these have now been shut off though various iOS 7 betas. This means that new ones have to be found which is not proving very easy at the moment.
And, despite requests from the jailbreak community, P0sixninja has said that here will not be a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 nor will they be releasing one for iOS 7 betas. If they do this, they are merely shooting themselves in the foot, as Apple will just patch up the holes before the public version is released in September.
Update : Twitter message by P0sixninja about jailbreak on iOS 7 devices
The message here is, don’t be too eager for an untethered jailbreak because it is going to take longer than first planned. Let’s not forget that, as time goes on, Apple makes it more and more difficult for the jailbreakers to gain access. It also took around 5 months for the development teams to jailbreak iOS 6 but it seems that perhaps we were expecting the iOS 7 utility much quicker.

We must not forget how much work goes into building the jailbreak utilities, whether they are tethered or untethered. The exploits have to be found first and they have to be the right ones. Then, once all the pieces are there, they have to be fitted together, a bit like a complicated jigsaw puzzle. If just one piece doesn’t fit, the picture cannot be completed.
Once all the pieces are in place and the utility is built, it must then be tested, both on the computer operating systems and on the devices on which it will be running. Then, and only then, can it be released to the public.
We will keep you up to date with progress on the iOS 7 untethered jailbreak . In the meantime, if you have not upgraded beyond iOS 6.1.2 you can use evasi0n to jailbreak. If you have upgraded you MAY be able to use Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze, depending on your device.Sponsored Links
