iOS 7 has been on public release since September 2013 and just before Christmas evad3rs released evasi0n 7, the untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 7. Despite a few teething problems, things have settled down a bit and now more and more developers are updating their Cydia apps or providing up with new ones that support iOS 7.
To help you decide which ones to download and so you know which ones can be used properly on iOS 7 we have a brief review of the 20 of the best Cydia apps for iOS 7.
1. Activator – Free
Activator is one of the most popular tweaks on iOS 7, even more so now it has support for iOS 7. As well as the usual gestures that you can set up, the new version also allows you to use the Touch ID button. Activator is a required tweak for some others to work.
2. AirBlue Sharing 7 – $4.99
AirBlue Sharing 7 gives iOS 7 users a real way of sharing via Bluetooth. Users can share files, images, music etc. but not just between iOS devices. This app also allows for the transfer of files to your iOS device from Windows, OS X and Android, as well as other major platforms.
3. BatterySafe – Free
BatterySafe is a new tweak to help with the age-old problem of battery life. As soon as the battery level on your device drops below a certain level, the tweak automatically turns off anything that is heavy on use, like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. It hasn’t got a lot in the way of customization yet but that may come in the future.
4. Bigify – Free
Bigify lets you change your home screen by making your icons different sizes, rotate them to another angle, get rid of labels and change how opaque they are.
5. BioLockdown – $1.99
This is a clever tweak that lets you use the Touch ID fingerprint sensor to protect your apps and your settings from unauthorised access.
6. BiteSMS – Free
This one works very well considering it is in beta at the moment. It still has all the usual BiteSMS functions, including quick access and quick reply without having to exit your current app. If you want to try the beta version of BiteSMS, add the following repo to Cydia – http://test-cydia.bitesms.com.
Wondering How to Jailbreak
7. Bypass – Free
This is another passcode app, allowing you to bypass the passcode with a secret gesture. You will need Activator for this tweak to work.
8. Bytafont 2 – Free
Bytafont 2 allows you to use a different font that can be applied to the lock screen, home screen, in apps and so much more. The app is still being updated for iOS 7 but is working.
9. CCControls – Free
There are a few tweaks that customize the new iOS control center but this is the top one. It is full of customization options – decide which settings appear in the center, their appearance, the Control Center theme, and so much more.
10. CCHide – Free
CCHide lets you remove toggles from the Control Center so it just shows the settings you use. This tweak should not be used with CCControls as they are not compatible with each other.
11. HiddenSettings 7 – Free
This enables the hidden settings in the springboard that Apple doesn’t want you seeing. The setup is similar to Springtomizer 2 and it lets you make some significant changes to the way you device looks. This is an advanced tweak and should not be used by those who don’t know what they are doing.
12. iCaughtu – Free or $2.50 with extra features
iCaughtu adds extra security to your iOS device. If someone tries to access it and puts the wrong passcode in the FaceTime camera takes a photo of them and sends it to you via email. You also get GPS co-ordinates of the location of the phone, great if it’s been stolen or mislaid. As well as iOS 7 this tweak supports the new 64-bit processors.
13. iCleanerPro – Free
Clear some space on your device with this tweak. iCleanerPro scans through and removes files that are not needed, including cache files, messages that are not needed, etc.
It is still in beta so you need to add the following repo to Cydia and you use the app at your own risk:
14. iFile – Free for 7 Days then $4.99
This old favorite gives you access to the file system on your iOS device, letting you move files around, copy and paste, import, edit and so much more
15. iTunes Radio Unlimited – Free
Those who use iTunes Radio will love this tweak as it gets rid of the skip limits that Apple have on the app and the adverts from the radio service.
16. SwitchSpring – Free
This one allows you to change the stock app switcher so that you can bulk-quit apps. This is done by a simple swipe up gesture and either quitting all apps or restarting your device.
17. TetherMe – $4.99
This is another of those useful apps that lets you turn your device into a hotspot to share internet connection between other devices.
18. Virtual Home – Free
Give your Home button a bit of a respite with this tweak. Instead of pressing it to get to your Home screen you can make use of the Touch ID feature and just touch the Home button once. You can also use it to open the multi-tasking screen.
19. Winterboard – Free
WinterBoard is a must have if you want to theme your device. It is in the process of being updated to support the 64-bit processor but it does still work on all other devices on iOS 7.
20. Zeppelin – Free
This is another oldie that lets you change your carrier icon, either by picking one included or making your own.
